Saatchi Gallery Installation
Designed and constructed by Will Garforth-Bles and Vlad Ignatescu for PDP London and this installation was used as a bar for a private event at the Saatchi Gallery.
Inspiration for the structure was taken from the geometry of honeycombs and through the process of parametric research and testing, the installation was designed to show how an idea can be applied to any context and illustrated how parametric architecture can be used in practice.
The team designed a simple hexagonal component that could be multiplied and applied to a curve to create the bars volume. The project also took into account the need for storage at the event.
The bar is made from laser cut MDF and mirrored acrylic and its construction is modular so it can easily be assembled/disassembled within 30 minutes or even modified into alternative forms after its initial use.
