Welcome to our new Head of Sustainability, Federica Romeo Beattie

At the start of the new year, we bid farewell to Partner, Marion Baeli, who has played a pivotal role in shaping the practice’s sustainability initiatives, as she embarks on an exciting new journey. We’re therefore delighted to introduce you to Federica Romeo Beattie, our new Head of Sustainability.

"The practice’s sustainability portfolio, under Marion's leadership, has achieved significant milestones in sustainable design, including the delivery of the UK’s first Passivhaus Victorian residential retrofit project. We extend our sincere thanks for her invaluable contributions to our practice over the past 19 years.” said Alec Howard, Partner. "As we enter a new chapter, we are excited to welcome Federica Romeo Beattie, who will build upon this strong foundation to both focus and elevate our sustainability efforts."

A Certified Passivhaus Designer, architect and Technical Studies Associate Lecturer at the Royal College of Arts, Federica brings with her a wealth of architectural knowledge across all stages from feasibility to construction, with a focus on residential, workplace and hospitality projects.

"I am honoured and excited to take on the role of Head of Sustainability at Studio PDP. We’re in a climate emergency, and, as architects, we play a crucial role in reducing emissions in the built environment. I am passionate about using our collective expertise to positively impact a greater number of projects. My focus will be on supporting and upskilling our design teams, as well as championing our commitment to retrofitting existing buildings - something the practice excels at. Together, I hope we can drive meaningful change, reflecting our dedication to a more sustainable and resilient world." says Federica.

So, as we close one chapter, we eagerly anticipate Federica’s contributions in shaping the sustainable future of the practice.
