An award-winning sustainable, social housing development in Northern Ireland that achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5 and Lifetime Homes standards. The project was won through an international competition of 65 entries.

The energy strategy was based on passive measures that exploit the site’s topography, microclimate, extensive south facing aspect and the building form, as well as the most energy efficient equipment and smart homes control systems.

The masterplan arrangement is a journey through the site around which a series of social housing clusters are arranged. Houses are designed to a specific client brief, and are layered into the landscape with private, semi-private and public open spaces. This supports an everchanging, sustainable community and caters for a variety of age groups who might occupy the development.
